David Yurman jewelry is a luxury jewelry company created by a designer of the same name. Some of his jewelry can be quite pricey and as a result is particularly popular with Hollywood stars, sports personalities and more affluent customers.

David Yurman uses either Sterling silver, 18kt gold or a combination of the two in his collection although he will occasionally use titanium. He was interested in design from a relatively early age and in the 1960s sculpture was his main passion. David would live and work with the bohemian crowd of the day and Greenwich Village in the 1960's must have been an inspiring place to be for an up and coming artist.

David Yurman Jewelry - The Early Years

It was in a studio that David met a young woman by the name of Sybil. They quickly fell in love and David started designing pieces of jewelry for Sybil to wear. It was whilst wearing one of his creations that a chance encounter sparked an opportunity for the couple that would change their lives forever. Whilst attending an art exhibition Sybil was wearing a belt buckle that David Yurman had made for her. The design caught the eye of the gallery owner who asked if the design could be produced on a commercial scale. As this item was so personal to David he declined the offer but realized for the first time that his designs had commercial appeal.

Over the next two decades his jewelry collection has evolved and expanded making his brand one of the most popular in the country. A wide range of prices makes his jewelry accessible to most people and although you may find replicas and "David Yurman inspired" jewelry on the internet there is only one original.
